James Calabrese has over forty years of experience as a real estate investor. As the founding member of HLP, he has been behind the development, management, and operations of retail, residential, and office properties throughout the United States. Upon entering the real estate business, Mr. Calabrese was a founding partner in the John Anthony Group, a real estate brokerage and investment firm based in New York City. He has participated in the ownership interests of over 1 million square feet of real estate assets and contributed to the disposition of over 1,000 commercial buildings over his untarnished career.
James graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, and received an honorable discharge from the United States Army after serving during the Vietnam War.
Tony Calabrese has nearly ten years experience as a real estate investor and manager of retail, office, residential and mixed-use properties across the United States. Prior to joining HLP, Tony served as Assistant Vice President responsible for east coast acquisitions for Rockwood Capital - a real estate private equity fund - from 2005 through 2011. Through his term, Tony was responsible for sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, and closing over $1.2 billion in acquisitions. Before joining Rockwood Capital's acquisition team, he was part of Rockwood's asset management platform, specializing in loan workouts and the management of over two million square feet of east coast assets. Mr. Calabrese began his real estate career as an analyst for JohnAnthony Group where he focused on the acquisition and management of investment properties throughout the NY-NJ-CT tristate area.
Tony's education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Seton Hall University and Masters Degree in Real Estate Finance from New York University. Prior to the start of his real estate career, Tony was a professional baseball player within the New York Yankees and New York Mets organizations.
